The Death of President Kirk

Maray na aldaw po!

On Tuesday, my mission President had a stroke and was put on a ventilator machine, on Wednesday morning, he passed away.

I am grateful for the peaceful assurance that we felt when we got the news. He is still involved heavily in the work, just on the other side of the veil now. I feel he is still guiding his missionaries

I am also grateful for the chance to know this wonderful man of God. I have received so many revelations and spiritual strengthening because of his teachings. Most of all I am going to miss how he looked every one of his missionaries in the eyes and would say "Sister/Elder ______, I love you." He fulfilled his calling in every way and was truly called of God to serve where he did and when he did.

The work hasn't stopped, in fact, it was been one of the busiest weeks on my mission, full of community service projects, FHEs, Missionary devotionals with the ward, members working with us, and many people coming to church. I am remained about what President Kirk said when we first met him.

"Stand still in Holy Places as the gospel fills all of Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte, the Philippiines and the whole earth."

I know that God is truly at the helm of this glorious work,

Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us acheerfully bdo all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the csalvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed. " -D&C123:17

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen

-Sister Gray
