I ATE DOG

Maray na aldaw!

We found out yesterday that Sister Haviland is being transferred and I will be training again. I'm so excited for this calling as a trainer during my last transfer in the mission.

Our area is doing great. We have been trying to pray right after an appointment falls through and ask for inspiration to know where to go and what to do. And then-- listen! Before we started doing this, I still felt guided by the spirit because we usually go with our back-up or the person that first comes into our head. That is still definitely guided by the spirit. However, as we started praying repeatedly throughout the day, we made ourselves more available to the Lord and His will because we said, as Samuel said: "Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth." 1 Sam 3:10.

One example happened as we prayed, a name popped into my head. He was a referral from a member that the sisters had taught before my time here. We had never met him because he moved to Manila but would be back in December. I was hesitant to say the name to my companion because we knew he was in Manila. Maybe he randomly came back, we thought, so we followed the prompting. As we approached his house, a figure approached us from across the streets--it was him, back from Manila for just a few weeks!

We need to realize what a privilege it is to pray, how dependent we really are on Him and the urgent need we have to communicate with our Father in Heaven.

President Spencer w Kimball says it the best:
" Why should we pray? Because we are the sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, on whom we depend for everything we enjoy—our food and clothing, our health, our life itself, our sight and hearing, our voices, our locomotion, even our brains. . . . Do you give to yourself your breath, your life, your being? Can you lengthen your days by a single hour? Are you so strong without the gifts of heaven? Are your brains made by self, and did you fashion them? Can you give life or give it prolongation? Do you have power to do without your Lord? . . . . You who pray sometimes, why not pray more regularly, more often, more devoutly? Is time so precious, life so short, or faith so scant?"

Oh! I ate dog this week. The meat was pretty tough one could say it was a little...ruff.
Also I ate silsi ice cream. Silsi is a very hot chili pepper that's famous in the region that im serving in.

Keep reading your scriptures and pray about the direction the Lord wants you to go!
I love you all!
Sister Gray
