Just Do It

Maray na aga po!

This week was "Araw ng Patay" or Day of the Dead. Here in the Philippines, they visit, clean and put candles on the graves of their ancestors. The best thing is that they stay at the cemetery for 24 hours and there are a lot of street vendors on the street the whole night. We live right next to the cemetery so the view from our apartment was gorgeous!

As we are all searching for happiness in this life, I want to share where the source of true, lasting happiness comes from. It is not very shocking that happiness comes from God. He is the source of all good things, peace, joy, happiness, and fulfillment. When we sin or follow the desires of the natural man, we are going contrary to the nature of happiness. The Prophet Isaiah taught:
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.  Isaiah 32:17
The joy and peace that we have in this life are the natural effects of our personal righteousness and obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ truly is the Prince of Peace; fulfillment in this life cannot be obtained through any other means, only by and through Jesus Christ and his Atonement.

I hope you are all reading scripture and praying earnestly so you can fully understand God's merciful plan and receive that joy and peace.

If not.....just do it!
