New area! New companion! New me!

Marayna aga sa indo lahat!

My new companion is Sister Makanda:

She is from Queenstown, South Africa, she loves Shakespeare just as much as I do, and she is so so so sweet. She speaks Xhosa and it is the coolest language. (She said they speak in Black Panther)

I am following up training her and at first, I was a little nervous because sometimes I've relied on my companion's Tagalog but we haven't had a problem so far communicating with people. It's such a confidence boost aha! Which is a little surprising because they also speak Biccol here. I'm excited to start learning another language  #3rd mission language woohoo

Missionaries getting creative with dinner

I got transferred to the middle of Naga City. Our area is all railroad tracks and lots of little houses. There are SO MANY people. By the end of the day, my mouth muscles are sore from talking.

My new goal is to try to use the Book of Mormon in all contacts and to carry one in my arms while proselyting so people can see it. I decided to try it because it is the tool we have as missionaries to gather Isreal. President Ezra Taft Benson said:

"The only problem the objector has to resolve for himself is whether the Book of Mormon is true. For if the Book of Mormon is true, Then Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was a prophet, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and is being led today by a prophet receiving revelation."

The first person I tried it on was a Tatay who is the father of someone we are teaching and always treats us really coldly. When we stopped by, and he said his daughter wasn't there, I told him I had a verse I wanted to share with him. After we read from Mosiah, I bared my testimony about how God has a plan for him, and he softened so much! He held the book and said that he knew it was from God. It was such a powerful witness of the power of the scriptures. The words immediately softened his heart. He became kind towards us, and he opened up. As Sister Makanda and I walked away from the contacted, we turned to each other and said "WOW! that worked so well!" and we've been doing it ever since.

Keep reading the scriptures every day! Those words have real power and will change our hearts.

I hope you all have a great week!!
