I directed a traveling musical play...surprise
Maray na aga!
Some months ago, I was approached by the Mission President's wife with the idea that we would put on a play as a different approach of sharing our message. I wrote a draft of the play and we organized a committee to help revise it and write music. We then held auditions and had 12 practices in the course of 3 months. It's called "We Thank Thee Oh God For a Prophet" and it is about a girl who is being taught the message of the Restoration by the missionaries. As she is being taught in her home. scenes of the Prophet Joseph and the restoration are acted out on stage. The purpose of the play is to show people how they can gain their own testimony of the Restoration and how the knowledge will bring peace and comfort into their life and family relationships.
We are showing the play to every Stake in the mission. We had our first show on Saturday and it went so well! I was honestly so nervous, wondering if we could actually pull it off because we aren't professionals. I watched as people felt the spirit. They laughed, and cried, and wanted to take pictures with Joseph Smith afterward haha! I will probably get more pictures or videos in the next few weeks to share as we keep performing the play. Our next show is back in my first area:)
Sister Makanda is transferring so we took a lot of pictures with our favorite people this week:) Enjoy!
