Overcoming the World

Magandang umaga!

This week we were teaching an OYM who is struggling with health issues. He is about 60 years old and has never been religious but has had many missionaries from different religions to talk. He tells us every visit that he feels different about our message. He cries every time and eagerly awaits for us to come to his house. He wants to repent and is so prepared for this message.

After we taught him the plan of salvation, he bawled and told us so much how he wants to change. He is going to Manila for an operation soon, so when I told him that Sister Parcon was probably going to have a new companion when he got back, he grabbed my hand and said: "thank you talaga, my Sister."  He said this so sincerely for the hope we gave him, blessing me, Sister Parcon, and the member with us.

I almost started crying because I really saw the hope in the message of the gospel. He was so so thankful, and it was beautiful to see.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33

This gives me so much hope! Because Jesus Christ has overcome everything we could ever struggle within this world and we can, too, with His help. I don't have very many worries having learned this as a missionary because I know that I can overcome anything with the Savior.

Here is a Filipino chicken. I like her feathers.
I love you all!
