Flooding & Food
Magandang tanghali po sa inyong lahat!
This week there was another storm down south. Whether it was a typhoon or a hurricane, I have no idea because all the locals just say "May bagio." (There is a storm.) We experienced some minor flooding on Wednesday when I was on exchanges with Sister Lee. In this picture, we are trying to step on the piles of trash to avoid the water haha.
We went to this cool area by the irrigation channel where you have to hang onto the houses in some parts as you walk or you will fall in.
Overall we stepped in mud and dirty water about 4 times. We showed up to all our appointments with mud-covered feet.
I also thought to include some pictures of food because I haven't yet, and people seem to really like to know what missionaries eat. We eat a lot of rice. I never knew there were different kinds of rice until coming here, but now I'm a rice connoisseur. The rice here tastes like clouds!
Also here is a REALLY horribly blurry picture of Sister Geralde and some gas tanks:
Some of our areas are so far out that it's hard to get a ride back into town, so we have to basically hitchhike. This was late at night in our farthest area, and we had to flag down this gas delivery guy and got to ride in his side cart with the gas tanks.
I'll write a better blog post next week, I promise!
God lives. He loves you!
