I'm speaking Tongan now?

I am safe in Sacramento and GUESS WHAT? I got assigned to the Tongan ward! God wants me to learn as many languages as possible, I guess. My companion is Sister Tatafu, and she's the best. Attending church was lovely this week; everything is in Tongan, and the hymns are AMAZING!
Language work in America is hard. We don't do a lot of ordinary tracting because everyone we would meet would have to be referred to English-speaking missionaries and it wouldn't be useful in building our ward. Instead, we spend all day visiting every Polynesian in our area, which covers the whole north part of the mission!
Tongan, Samoan, and Tagalog! |
Overall, the people who do answer the door are nice and are at least concerned about us staying hydrated. I love Sacramento so much.
I haven't even thought about taking pictures while working but here is one of my cute companion.

I know this email was short but I want to say that God is a God of miracles. Prayer is powerful.
Love you all.
