Called, Prepared, and Reported
Hello Friends, Family and anyone who stumbles across this blog!
I've been preparing to go on a mission for two years now and I don't think it has actually hit me yet that that's what is happening. Maybe when they slap a name tag on me it'll feel real, or maybe they'll have to throw me on a plane and ship me to the Philippines for me to believe it.

Just opened my call |
I have never felt more loved by my Heavenly Father than when I opened my mission call. When I read "Philippines Naga Mission," the Spirit filled my heart and I knew my prayers had been answered. It doesn't matter where you serve and no missionary is predestined to go to a certain mission, but I know I was called here because God knows me personally. He knew I was so ready to serve anywhere that he gave me everything I wanted in a mission. As I've been researching the area for the past few months, I have fallen in love with everything about it! I am SO excited to serve and love the Filipino people!

As my report date has rolled closer, I've been blessed to be able to say goodbye to friends and family and feel their love. Thanks for all the messages, cards and hugs! I've never felt so supported!
A day after my farewell, my brother emailed me telling me that he was coming home early! AH, GUYS!!!! GOD LOVES US!!

I was going to leave the MTC to go to the Philippines 2 weeks before he came back from McAllen, Texas. But now, we have been able to spend 6 days together before I report. What a blessing it has been to have him here to study scriptures and go to the temple with me every day before I leave on my mission! He is my favorite person on this planet and the most spiritual person I know. God knows we both really needed this reunion. I am so grateful for his example. I hope we keep the awesome missionary legacy going as one Gray missionary passes the torch to the other Gray Missionary. I'll try my very hardest, that's for sure.

The last few months have been filled with so many blessings. From lost packages turning up months later to financial needs being met weeks before; I have seen God's had in my life every day as he has helped me prepare for this amazing calling. I know that God knows us and loves us so much that he cares about the things that we care about. He has a plan for us and he will shape us into who he wants us to become. I'm humbled to know that God wants to use me as an instrument in his work to spread this gospel of love and happiness. I am going to put my heart and soul into being a consecrated missionary and rely fully on the Lord for the next 18 months.
"Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together." (John 4:35–36)
I hope you will all keep reading my weekly updates throughout my journey. This blog's purpose is not only to update people back home on my missionary adventures but also to uplift and edify anyone who will read it. And please email me whenever you feel inspired to do so.
