Confidence is Key
Maray na aga po!
This week was the baptism of Sister Lourdis! Her progress has been amazing. When we first started teaching her she was very timid, unconfident, and her husband was against her joining the church. Despite the opposition, she would religiously read the Book of Mormon. Within a few weeks, she was halfway done! We then committed her to fast and pray and ask permission from her husband to be baptized and a miracle happened -- he told her she could! The conviction that she gained from the Book of Mormon, fasting, and prayer gave her the confidence to stand up for what she knew is true. She now corrals her children into the room and makes them listen to us. We love her.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercingeven to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. -Hebrew 4:12
The words in the scriptures are powerful and will change our thoughts and fundamentally who we are. I've seen The Book of Mormon divide false doctrine from the truth. I've seen it bring confidence and peace and strength to God's children. I've seen it give people to power to resist temptation and bring purpose in their lives. There is power in those pages. But the Book of Mormon has no power if you just keep it on a shelf.
I invite you to let the word of God pierce your soul and remove all the hurt, false conceptions you have about yourself, the world and God and bring happiness to your life. I've seen it work over and over again and I know it will work for you.
Have a great week. Mahal ko po kayo lahat!
